Our Dentists

Dr Charlie Henry is the principal dentist at White Sands Dental Gympie. Charlie qualified from Newcastle University in England in 2013. Whilst in England Charlie practiced in both in private practice and in the hospital setting. During this time Charlie obtained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Charlie enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but has a particular interest in cosmetic, restorative dentistry and endodontics (root canal treatment). Charlie completed a diploma in cosmetic dentistry in London in 2015 and is currently enrolled in a masters in Endodontics at Kings College, London.

Since moving to Australia Charlie has worked in private practice in Sydney’s northern beaches and since relocating to Queensland worked in the Sunshine Coast before opening White Sands Dental Gympie.

Outside of work Charlie enjoys taking part in triathlons, walks on the beach and hanging out with friends.

Dr Jill Wilson graduated from Newcastle University (UK) in 2015 with merit in clinical dentistry. After moving to Australia she worked in private practice in Sydney before moving to settle in Queensland. Jill has a calm and caring nature and enjoys getting to know her patients. Jill enjoys restorative dentistry including crown and bridge work and dental implants. Jill has carried out extensive training in both free hand and guided dental implant placements in Australia and has also travelled as far as UFM University in Guatemala as part of her implant fellowship training in 2022.

Outside of work Jill enjoys spending time with her family and friends, beach days and eating out. Jill and Charlie have recently become first time parents to their beautiful baby girl Lily. Check out our social media for photos!

Rob qualified in 1987 as a denture technician. He is highly experienced in the provision of both acrylic and cobalt chrome (metal framework) dentures, crown and bridge work and orthodontics. In 2014 Rob completed his training as a denture prosthesist and treats patients chairside which enables him to give patients high aesthetic results that are customised to them. Rob has an eye for detail and carries out most of his lab work under magnification to give the patients the best result.

In his spare time Rob is keen golfer and on most weekends can be found tearing up the golf course!

Dr Kunal Patel graduated from Newcastle University in 2013 alongside Dr Charlie. Since graduating Kunal spent 10 years working in London before moving to sunny Queensland. His dental interests include restorative dentistry (fillings, crown and bridge work) and helping anxious patients. Kunal has a calm, reassuring nature with an excellent sense of humour which instantly make patients feel more at ease.

Outside of work Kunal enjoys golfing, running and exploring Australia.

Dr Taiga Higo qualified from the University of Queensland. Taiga strives to give every patient a comfortable, fun  dental experience. Taiga enjoys treating patients of all ages and has been commended on his attitude and treatment of kids.

Growing up in Queensland Taiga enjoys the outdoors and spends his time outside of work, swimming and hiking. Taiga always looks for new recommendations of hikes in the local area!
